About
I am dedicated to building the classical-quantum internet infrastructure, called Quantum InterConnect. Current research in quantum communications, quantum memory, quantum transducers, and quantum sensors is predominantly photonics based. It is only natural to think future quantum computing will also be photonics based. There have been two models of quantum computing developed by the research community: discrete variable and continuous variable models. The discrete variable model is implemented by the notion of quantum bits with the superposition of the computational basis 0 and 1. The continuous variable (CV) model, in theory, can have an infinite number of basis states. The CV model, that has been implemented using quantum optics, offers a vastly higher-dimensional computational space than the qubit-based model. It allows for energy efficiency, scalability, and low latency.Future of quantum computing is, in my belief, photonics-based. We are building classical-quantum hybrid transformers that are basis of Generative AI using optical quantum computing.
